A unique 19th century narrow oval dome was the perfect vessel to finally display these unique xl female butterflies that we purchased from Indonesia a while ago. As you might know most of the butterflies used in our display are male as they are often brighter in colour. These female counterparts of the Papilio Memnon and Papilio Gambrisius display a subtle beige and black basetone with intricate blue and orange details. These details are then highlighted by all the other butterflies we brought into the equation.
